Badminton Scotland

Badminton Scotland is the National Governing Body for the sport of badminton in Scotland with a wide remit to actively promote and encourage badminton development from grass roots through local leagues and competitions to the highest playing level, including providing services for players and coaches. Through funding from the National Lottery, corporate sponsorship and partners, they administer the game, provide services to our members and promote and organise events at every level.

Scottish Schools Badminton Union (SSBU)

The Scottish Schools Badminton Union (SSBU) work closely with BADMINTONscotland to support and develop badminton in Primary and Secondary schools across Scotland. The SSBU are involved in the organising of the Primary and Secondary Schools Championships, Primary and Secondary Team Quaich Competitions, Coaching Squads as well as Age-Group Competitions.

North Lanarkshire Council - Sports Development

NLC run a badminton community programme across 3 of its venues including Broadwood Leisure Centre, Airdrie Leisure Centre & Wishaw Sports Centre.  The coaching sessions are ideal for those looking to try out the sport for the first time, new to the sport or keen to learn some basic skills before progressing to a local club.

South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture (SLLC) Trust

SLLC Trust support Lanarkshire Badminton through a team of Active Schools, Sports Development Officers & Community Sports Hub Officers.  In addition SLLC deliver badminton through their ACE programme with sessions taking place across all areas of South Lanarkshire.

North Lanarkshire Council (NLC) Active Schools & Community Sport

North Lanarkshire's Active Schools team are responsible for putting in place and driving forward a range of planned activities in both school and community settings to help encourage children and young people to become more active.  The team run a NL Secondary Badminton League which takes place over 4 fixtures across the season.
